Achi Chokyi Drolma is beautifully portrayed as the God of protector riding house. She is the queen of space. It was painted to honor the rich creative traditions that are associated with Tibetan Buddhism. A foundation of holiness is provided by the canvas, which is crafted from the highest quality cotton and symbolizes resiliency and purity.

The god of protection Riding a soaring blue horse, Achi (“Lady”) Chokyi Drolma darts through swirling clouds. She carries a drum and a blood-filled skull bowl, which are symbols of good triumphing over evil, and her scowl drives away forces that would undermine Buddhist teachings. The goddess Tara and two historical figures occupy the upper registers of the composition, while four attendant figures, each riding its own animal, are shown in the clouds underneath her. The painting’s foreground ritual offerings refer to the holy life of Achi Chokyi Drolma, who was a renowned teacher and Tantric practitioner who was born in Central Tibet in the eleventh century. She resolved to become a protector deity, had lyrics written for her invocation, and was apotheosized, riding a horse to a Buddhist heaven when she once miraculously turned a corpse into sacred gifts for a ritual feast.
