Description

This oxidized antiquated statue symbolizes the ultimate nature of reality and enlightenment in Tibetan Buddhism. It serves as more than just an art object; it is a tantric tool for transformation. Practitioners meditate on Vajradhara not to worship an external deity but to recognize their own innate, primordial Buddha nature—the Vajradhara within themselves. The crossed vajra and bell at his heart represent a profound declaration—a silent yet powerful roar (humkara)—affirming that compassion and wisdom, as well as samsara and nirvana, are not separate but are indeed one. This masterpiece acts as a gateway to that realization. His arms are crossed at the wrists, with the vajra held in his right hand and the ghanta in his left, positioned against his heart. This dynamic pose conveys strength and action, rather than passive meditation.
