Aparmita portrays the character of the person wishing to live eternity. He can be seen as a divine figure or a fully enlightened being, having reached a state of enlightenment many ages ago due to the immense virtues he has gathered over numerous previous existences as a compassionate seeker. The Larger Sutra of Immeasurable Life tells us about Aparmita, who, through his virtuous actions, established a pristine celestial realm. In this divine abode, he resides with countless celestial followers, reveling in a life that knows no bounds or end. He assures that when any devoted individual reaches the end of their life and calls upon him, he will come forth, accompanied by a host of revered sages, to guide the departing soul to his Pure Land, where they will dwell in the radiance of the Dharma, liberated from pain and mortality.
