Description

Ekajati’s distinctive abilities are expressed through her ethereal iconography, which depicts her in a wrathful yet meditative mood with three eyes, one breast, and ornamentation of flayed skin and enemies’ heads. Her dynamic form is captured in a gilded copper statue from Nepal, where she stands in an animated pose, emanating a brilliance defined by the flaming aura around her.

Ekajati’s face twists in rage, with a single fang sticking out of her lips and her hips wrapped in tiger skin. Her body is adorned with a necklace of severed human heads, and she waves an upright human corpse in her right hand. She sends a female wolf messenger with her left hand in the ‘Pratyalidha’, or warrior position. Ekajati is the ultimate guardian of Nyingmapa customs and protects mantras, ensuring their use for the right reasons and preventing their disclosure to those not deserving.

Ekajati statue ritual is performed for guidance and protection.  A prayer or chant is performed to welcome Ekajati, creating a sacred atmosphere. Practitioners renew their dedication to the Three Jewels (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha). Professioners present arranged items as symbolic gestures, accompanied by heartfelt intentions and aspirations. The mantra of Ekajati is a powerful tool, chanted continuously to channel her intense compassion and protective power. Practitioners can seek Ekajati’s guidance to overcome challenges, enhance their practices, or maintain their tantric vows.

Rituals vary based on tradition, teacher instructions, and the specific purpose of the practice. Consulting a qualified teacher or lama is essential to ensure alignment with authentic practices and personal spiritual paths.
