Description
This golden green Thangka is exceptionally beautiful. Its entire surface is painted in gold, which is polished to a stunning luster. When illuminated by butter lamps or sunlight, the thangka seems to emanate its own divine light, creating a captivating and profound visual experience.
The painting process requires meticulous care. Great attention must be paid during the application and polishing of the gold to avoid damaging the delicate pigments used for the details. Mastering this skill takes years, or even decades, of training.
The composition features panchaBuddhas at the top and revered female bodhisattvas at the bottom, guiding the viewer on a visual journey from the highest truths to their expressions in qualities such as compassion and wisdom. Using pure gold in your Thangka is not only a devoted choice but also a commendable deed. Gold is unbreakable, radiant, and precious, making it the ideal material to symbolize the sacred, unchanging, and brilliant nature of enlightened beings.
This thangka is more than just a painting; it serves as a sacred guide for meditation and contemplation. Practitioners may use it to:
- Connect with Ultimate Truth: By focusing on transforming their fundamental illusions into the five wisdoms through the vision of the Pancha Buddhas.
- Develop Compassion and Wisdom: By praying to White Tara and Saraswati for the enhancement of active compassion and the growth of their intellectual and intuitive wisdom.
- The Unified Path: The entire work illustrates that the Buddhas’ highest wisdom manifests in the world as loving action (represented by Tara) and enlightened speech and understanding (represented by Saraswati).
