Description
White Tara is depicted with her left leg folded and her right leg slightly extended, symbolizing readiness to help others. Her bright white body signifies purity, ultimate truth (Dharma), and the cessation of suffering, resembling clear water.
White Tara’s seven eyes represent her compassionate awareness and ability to perceive suffering across all realms of existence: two ordinary eyes, one on her right palm, one on her left palm, and one on each foot’s sole, signifying her all-knowing nature.
Her hand gestures reflect significant mudras: her right hand, open and facing out at her knee, embodies supreme generosity (varada mudra), possibly holding a white lotus stem; her left hand, positioned at her heart in abhaya mudra, symbolizes refuge and protection and may also bear a lotus stem.
This thangka serves as a powerful tool for meditation, healing, and spiritual growth. Display this artwork to invite White Tara’s gentle energy, protection, and blessings into your home.
