Description
The Hevajra Thankga, a breathtaking piece, was meticulously hand-painted by a talented Nepali artisan, adhering to the age-old Tibetan artistic traditions. This stunning work displays the artist’s skill, employing a distinctive brushwork method that imparts both texture and dimensionality to the canvas. The delicate gold embellishments underscore the importance of the Hevajra deity, transforming the piece from mere ornamentation into a potent spiritual symbol.
Hevajra is portrayed positioned on a sun disk lotus throne, displaying a fierce countenance with Consort Nairatmya. He possesses a total of sixteen appendages, consisting of eight faces, four legs, and an equal number of arms. The eight faces symbolize the process of purifying the eight forms of liberation. The four legs of the deity trample upon four maras, which represent the four hindrances to achieving enlightenment.
