The Machig Labdrön Thangka Ritual is a Buddhist practice dedicated to Machig Labdrön, a Tibetan yogini who founded Chöd, a method for “cutting through” attachment and dualistic thinking. The ritual involves preparing a sacred space, purifying the mind and body, and expressing devotion through the universe as a mandala. Key practices include meditation on her thangka image, visualization of Machig Labdrön, and the recitation of mantras. The ritual aims to generate positive energy for the well-being of all beings and realization of enlightenment. Machig Labdrön is symbolized as a radiant yogini with a drum and bell, embodying the integration of wisdom and skillful means, making this ritual a transformative spiritual practice.
