Description
Avalokiteshvara made a promise to liberate sentient beings from suffering but struggled and fell apart. His arms broke, and his head fractured into eleven fragments. Amitabha Buddha granted him eleven heads for each fragment. Buddha Amitabha gathered the fragments and praised Avalokiteshvara’s prayer, which held immense value and deserving recognition from all Buddhas. The transformation of Avalokiteshvara, from a shattered form to one with eleven faces and one thousand hands, is a powerful testament to the potential of compassion. This transformation represents the hands of a thousand universal rulers and the eyes of a thousand Buddhas. Avalokiteshvara manifested in various forms to alleviate suffering and achieve significant events.
