Makeup of the Set
Je Tsongkhapa (Center): Tsongkhapa sits in meditation, with a sword and a book above his shoulders to symbolize his mastery of wisdom and scripture. He often holds his hands in the teaching mudra, actively representing the transmission of wisdom at the heart of the Gelug tradition.
Gyaltsab Je (Left): As Tsongkhapa’s foremost disciple, Gyaltsab Je ensures the authentic continuation and protection of his teacher’s legacy.

Khedrup Je (Right): Khedrup Je, a key figure in shaping the Gelug school’s philosophy, demonstrates steadfast devotion and clarity.

The most famous set of statues on Gelug shrines in homes and churches is made up of these three. They are called the “Gelugpa Lineage Masters.”

This statues demonstrates knowledge, moral purity, and mental understanding of the Gelug tradition. In his famous book Lamrim Chenmo, Je Tsongkhapa (1357–1419) set up the Gelug school and stressed the importance of strict rules, doing well in school, and deep meditation. His main students, Gyaltsab Je and Khedrup Je, kept and added to what he taught for future generations.

These three statues of Tsongkhapa do more than beautify a space—they embody the living wisdom and inspiration of the Gelug tradition. Place them on altars or in meditation rooms to enrich your spiritual practice, or offer them as meaningful gifts for practitioners and students.
